WANA (Mar 25) –  Iran’s non-oil exports saw a significant rise in the first 11 months of the year 1403 (March 2024–February 2025), reaching $53.4 billion, marking an 18.78% increase compared to the same period last year, according to the Iranian Customs Administration. The total export volume also climbed by 12.67% to approximately 141 million tons.

 

Strong Growth in Petrochemical Exports

Petrochemical products played a major role in the export boom, with 58.5 million tons shipped, generating $23.5 billion in revenue. This represents a 29% increase in volume and a 31.27% rise in value.

 

Top Exported Commodities

Natural gas led the list of Iran’s top exports, contributing around $6.6 billion and accounting for 12.46% of total exports. Liquefied propane followed with $3.3 billion (6.24% share), while methanol exports stood at $2.1 billion (3.86% share).

 

Rising Export Value Per Ton

The average customs value per ton of exported goods increased from $359 in the first 11 months of 1402 ((March 2023–February 2024) to $378 in the same period of 1403 (March 2024–February 2025), reflecting a 5.42% rise.

 

Key Export Destinations

China remained Iran’s top export partner, purchasing $13.8 billion worth of goods. Iraq followed with $11.2 billion, the UAE with $6.6 billion, Turkey with $6.4 billion, Afghanistan with $2.2 billion, Pakistan with $2.2 billion, and India with $1.8 billion.

 

Collectively, these seven countries accounted for approximately 82.09% of Iran’s total export volume and 82.78% of total export value.
